A bolt-in Big Power cam is a reality for your Gen 2 M8. This S&S Cycle HPT542 (HPT=HorsePower and Torque .542" valve lift) cam. The HPT542 gives it a start with that idle M8 owners want; the sound of something ready to perform. When you open the throttle the performance is real. A mile-wide torque band and high RPM horsepower; the HPT542 is what Gen 2 owners have been asking for... true bolt-in performance from 2000-6200 RPM. It will also fit Gen1 models; just use S&S Cycle .605" lift springs (MCS 565784) and you are set. - Chain drive cam; compatible with OEM components - Bolt-in for Gen2 M8 engines with oval port heads (excl. 117" & 121" VVT) - Compatible with Gen1 M8 engines using S&S 565784 .605" lift springs (performs excellently with a mild port job) - RPM Range: Strong pull from 2000 – 6200 RPM - Compression: Works great up to 11.7:1 - Real-World Performance - Outstanding throttle response - Aggressive yet streetable lope at idle - Lift: .542" - Intake Duration: 223° - Exhaust Duration: 259° - Intake Closes: 30° Note: Gen1 M8 models require 565784 S&S .605" lift valve spring kit Note: For best performance it is; like with all performance cams; recommended to use a free breathing air cleaner and exhaust system.
